This explains how we handle personal data when we contact businesses and business contacts about our services (business-to-business marketing). If you become a client, a separate agreement covers that relationship.

The personal data we hold

When we identify a business that might benefit from our services, we may hold:

  • your name and job title
  • your business email address and/or phone number
  • your company name, website and publicly listed business details
  • information about projects your business is publicly associated with
  • our record of any contact between us (emails sent, replies, opt-outs)

We do not seek or hold special-category (sensitive) data.

Where we get it

We collect this information from publicly available and business sources, including:

  • company websites and public web pages
  • Companies House
  • professional networking sites (e.g. LinkedIn)
  • construction and planning project-intelligence data (e.g. Glenigan)

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your data to contact you about our services and, if you engage us, to provide them. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — our interest in promoting relevant services to businesses likely to benefit. We have assessed this against your rights: we contact you only in your business capacity, keep messages relevant, and let you opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run our business (for example, email and CRM providers) who process data on our behalf under contract. If any provider is outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

We keep prospect data only as long as needed for the purpose above — typically 24 months from our last meaningful contact — after which we delete it, unless you become a client or ask to be suppressed.

Your rights

You have the right to: be informed; access your data; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and an absolute right to object to direct marketing at any time. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it.

To opt out, reply “unsubscribe” to any email or contact info@montvalelimited.com. We will stop and add you to our suppression list so we don’t contact you again.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
